Katy Grazebrook is a qualified Clinical Psychologist and President of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT), first elected in 2020 and currently serving her second term. Her work as President has focused on the role of CBT associations as collective professional structures that safeguard the quality, integrity and ethical delivery of evidence-based CBT across diverse national and cultural contexts. This has included the development and adoption of EABCT’s Diversity and Inclusion Statement, chairing the Women in CBT Working Group, and leading the Humanitarian Crises Resources Working Group. Together, this work reflects a commitment to strengthening shared standards, ethical practice and professional identity, and to supporting collaboration and knowledge exchange across Europe for the benefit of clients and the wider public.

Katy qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 1994 and spent most of her professional career in the UK’s National Health Service (NHS), with a three-year period as a research clinical psychologist at the University of Manchester. Her early clinical work focused on CBT for psychosis across community, inpatient and rehabilitation services. In 2008–2009, she was recruited to establish the Improving Access to Psychological Therapies (IAPT) service for common mental health problems in the London Borough of Greenwich, which she led from inception for over a decade. She later became Head of Psychological Therapies for all mental health services in Greenwich, professional lead for approximately 200 psychological therapists, and a member of the Directorate Management Team, leaving the NHS in 2022.

Alongside her clinical career, Katy held a range of voluntary roles within the British Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Psychotherapies (BABCP), including Manchester branch committee, Accreditation committee member, Trustee of BABCP, and then service as Honorary Secretary to the Board of Trustees. This national-level work provided the foundation for her subsequent engagement at European level, including representing BABCP at EABCT, election to the EABCT Board as Secretary, and later as President.

Mehmet Sungur is professor of psychiatry at Üsküdar University. He received training in cognitive behaviour therapy (CBT), sexual and marital therapies at the Institute of Psychiatry (King’s College), London. He is accredited as a 'cognitive behaviour therapist' by the Europoean Association of Behaviour and Cognitive Therapy (EABCT). He is a founding fellow member, certified cognitive therapist/supervisor of the Academy of Cognitive Therapy (ACT) and International Advisory Board member of the Beck Institute (BI). He is the immediate past president of the International Association for Cognitive Psychotherapy (IACP) and has been one of the past presidents of the EABCT. Dr Sungur is now the past president of the European Federation of Sexology (EFS) and also an executive board member of the recently established World Confederation of Cognitive and Behavioural Therapies (WCCBT).He was also a board member of the World Association of Sexual Heath(WAS)

His clinical practice covers a wide range of clinical syndromes with a special emphasis on cognitive behavioural treatment of anxiety disorders and sexual and marital problems. He has presented workshops and keynotes in many international congresses. He played a leading role in the dissemination of the practice of CBT and sex-couple therapy. He is the president of Turkish Association of Cognitive and Behaviour Therapy (TACBT) since its establishment.

He has received some national and international awards, including “Schizophrenia Reintegration Award”, “Gold Medal from European Federation of Sexology”, "Julia Heiman Honorary Award" for his contributions in the area of couple and sex therapy. He also received the Ivan Pavlov Award in St. Petersburg. He has published more than 100 papers mainly about CBT and sexual disorders and written many books and book chapters on CBT.His books on “ Making Peace with Uncertainty” and “Love-Marriage and Infidelity” are published in Russian and being translated to English.

He is on the advisory and/or editorial board of many national and international journals and has currently committed himself to the training of mental health professionals in clinical applications of CBT and couple-sex therapy. He has been the president of 8 international and many national congresses.

Maria do Céu Salvador is a Professor at the University of Coimbra, teaching CBT models and interventions, conducting research and supervising CBT Training, Master and PhD thesis. She is a clinical psychologist and an accredited CBT psychotherapist and supervisor, working in private practice and teaching in several training programs, both in Portugal and abroad. She is currently the President of the Portuguese Association of Behaviour Therapy.

Professor Agnieszka Popiel, MD, PhD, is a psychiatrist, cognitive-behavioural therapist, supervisor, and professor at SWPS University, Warsaw, Poland. She co-directs both the Postgraduate School of Cognitive-Behavioural Therapy (CBT) and the Clinical and Scientific Centers for CBT at SWPS University.

As a co-founder and past president of the Polish Association for CBT and an active member of the European Association for Behavioural and Cognitive Therapies (EABCT), she has played a key role in advancing CBT training and supervision standards in Poland since 1998. She currently serves on the EABCT Accreditation Committee and contributes to the EABCT Working Group on Humanitarian Crises. She specialises in the treatment and prevention of post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD). Her research includes clinical trials, PTSD therapies, and CBT supervision, emphasising evidence-based practice and the integration of temperament for personalised treatment.

She is a co-author of influential CBT handbooks (2008, 2022) and Supervision in CBT (2013, with E. Pragłowska). The 2022 handbook was honoured by the Polish Academy of Sciences, Division of Psychology. Her collaborative work on PTSD treatment and prevention, alongside B. Zawadzki and E. Pragłowska, earned recognition from the Polish Firefighters Headquarters.
